Project background

We are excited to let you know that Council will be upgrading the drainage and irrigation system at Kirrawee Oval.

Oval drainage and irrigation upgrades are important to ensure the longevity and playability of sports field surfaces and to ensure continuity of sporting competitions throughout the season.  This will enhance the amenity of the open space for our whole community to enjoy an active lifestyle.

Project scope

The work includes:

  • Supply and install a subsoil drainage system.
  • Minor turf remediation for drainage works.
  • Supply and installation of an automatic irrigation system.
  • Provision of new irrigation pump, with smart controls.

Detailed Design - December 2023 (complete)

Tender - February 2024 (complete)

Site Establishment – May 2024

Practical Completion – June 2024

Impacts during construction

The playing field will be closed during construction and for the remainder of season.  There will be limited access to the clubhouse during this time.

We are working with the local community groups to make suitable arrangements for training and competition matches during this important work.

We appreciate the support and collaboration of our sport clubs and local user groups during this process.
