We are renewing the irrigation system on playing fields 1, 2 and 3 at Anzac Oval which forms part of a larger recreation precinct.

The installation will enable the continuation of sporting competitions and training, and improve the overall experience for our community and visitors to the park.

This irrigation renewal is important to ensure the longevity and quality of the playing surface throughout the season.

Project scope

The work include:

  • Supply and installation of an automatic irrigation system.
  • Includes smart controls for irrigation and monitoring.
  • Turf remediation

Project schedule

Detailed Design - December 2023 (complete)

Tender - February 2024 (complete)

Site Establishment – May 2024

Practical Completion – August 2024 (weather permitting)

Impacts during construction

The playing field will be remain open during construction.

Vehicles will be entering and leaving from the eastern boundary on Anzac Avenue.  Management of truck movements (to and from site) will give consideration to nearby residents.  The playground will be temporally closed while construction vehicles move past this area.

There will be minor connection works required at the entrance to the car parking area.  All other facilities at this complex will remain open.

We are working with local community user groups to ensure that the works do not impact their current training and competition needs at the site and appreciate their collaboration and support throughout this process.

We will keep you updated as the work progresses and thank you for your patience.
