1R Menai Road, Woronora, New South Wales - Woronora Riverside

Project timeline

Project start:  Aug 2024

Expected completion:   Dec 2024

Project background

Woronora RFS Floating Station is home to a unique boat lifting system, that allows for dry docking of RFS vessels, and a quick launch system for incident response.   In consultation with Woronora RFS, we have sourced an appropriate new system, to replace the worn units.   The manufacture of new units is in progress, which will support the efficiency of RFS vessel launches and improve safety in operation for brigade members and our community.

Project scope

The work includes:

  • Design and manufacture of a new lifting system.
  • Removal and decommissioning of the existing boat lifts.
  • Installation of 2 new lifting units.
  • Installation of 1 pontoon infill.
  • Testing and commissioning of the new units.

Project schedule

Site Establishment – August 2024

Expected Practical Completion – December 2024

Impacts during construction

As the existing units are currently not in operation, the Brigade’s activities and responses will not be impacted by these works.
