We are building a new accessible play space adjacent to the Leisure Centre within Waratah Park.
Waratah Park - Rawson Parade, Sutherland.
Project timeline
Project start: Nov 2024
Expected Completion: Jun 2025
Project background
The new playground in Waratah Park at Sutherland aligns with the Masterplan for this precinct, which was adopted by Council in April 2022. This is an important and diverse regional recreational facility and the Waratah Park Masterplan provides a coordinated and long-term approach to the way open spaces and recreation opportunities are improved into the future.
This play space will provide a vibrant and inclusive recreational facility that enhances the social and visual qualities of the area and will offer a unique play experience. The playground design celebrates the distinctive local character of Waratah Park and is accessible from the parking area and community bus stops.
It will have safe, level and well-lit pedestrian connections to Rawson Avenue and reflects the importance of this regional recreation area within the Waratah Park precinct.
