Living here my whole life I have a deep sense of love for our area and community. I've been fortunate to travel the world representing Australia in water polo and as a speaker at the United Nations Climate Conferences and can hands down say that the Sutherland Shire is the best part of our planet!
I want to ensure that everyone can prosper in this community and future generations can continue to enjoy what makes this area great. When I saw that Gunnamatta Bay's water quality dropped to a poor rating last year because of increased bacteria and pollution, that was the moment I knew that I had to step up and try and get at the decision-making table to provide a fresh perspective that can help to promote and protect what makes this area great.
This term, I want to be an active Councillor where the community feel listened to and we can all create a better Shire. Some of the things I want to achieve during this term is to clean our waterways and beaches, ensuring young people are well represented, improving community consultation processes and creating a vibrant active community.
My vision for the future of Sutherland Shire is one where all generations prosper, we protect and enhance what makes this area great, which is our natural environment, sporting and arts culture and our community.
I am a committed environmental leader and co-founder of Plastic Free Cronulla, where I supported local businesses and government to reduce plastic and protect our ocean. In my corporate life I served as General Manager of a leading international aquatics company, supporting local aquatics clubs. As a Take 3 for the Sea ambassador, I created the documentary RISING UP which has been touring cinemas, festivals, schools and community groups to share hope and solutions with climate change and plastic pollution. I’ve led sustainability and youth engagement initiatives and am driven to bring positive change to the Sutherland Shire as a Councillor.
My formal qualifications and recognition include a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney, Blue & Gold Scholarship, UniBank Leaders Scholarship 2021, Sutherland Shire Young Australian of the Year in 2020, Sutherland Shire Environmental Citizen of the Year in 2023 and JCI Australia’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2023.
My interests and hobbies include being in the ocean - whether surfing, snorkelling or swimming - spending time with mates, and I do love the odd game of chess.
I’m a member of Cronulla Sharks Water Polo Club and Cronulla Chamber of Commerce.
