We know public participation and engagement are the foundation of good decision-making and is beneficial to our community.

There are many ways to get involved in the decisions of Council, including engaging with us in-person or online to share your feedback on current consultations (see our Join the Conversation site), speaking at a Council meeting or participating in our Reference Groups, Working Parties and Panels.

These groups bring together Councillors, Council staff, community members, and other subject matter experts to collaborate and provide ongoing advice and feedback to help shape our strategies, plans, and policies. Reference Groups provide advice to Council to support the elected Council to make the final decisions.

Members for our Groups, Working Parties and Panels for the 2025–2028 Term are confirmed and Terms of Reference for these groups are currently being established. The Terms of Reference outline each group’s objectives, role and membership and be made available on this page later this month, following the March Council Meeting.
