Our reading challenges aim to make reading a fun and engaging activity for kids. A love of reading and books fosters strong language and literacy skills, greater general knowledge, increased vocabulary, and a positive attitude to learning.

How to participate
- Download the app at the App Store, Google Play store, or online at Beanstack.com
- Register as a reader in Beanstack, then register your family members with you
- Join the Winter Reading Challenge in Beanstack
- Start reading. Log the titles of books you read or time spent reading, and maybe write a review or two.
- Collect digital badges and other rewards along the way by reading and completing activities.
Complete activities, earn badges
Little readers can earn additional badges by completing three different activities at the libraries throughout July.
- Jam out with a Librarian! Come and tell one of our friendly librarians what your favourite song is to unlock a badge on Beanstack!
- What’s that sound? Solve the music-themed riddle seen on a poster in the children's section of the library. The answer is the code for a badge.
- Mysterious Melodies: Unscramble the letters to spell our secret instrument? The answer will unlock a badge on Beanstack!
