Event details
Want to hear about Australia’s own 'Prison Break'? Come along to this author talk as career criminal John Killick describes his audacious escape from Sydney’s Silverwater prison, after his partner in crime Lucy Dudko stole a helicopter at gunpoint to help take flight.
Australia’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde' spent the next 45 days on the run before being caught. Killick was sentenced to 23 years in prison and Dudko to 10.
In The Last Escape, Killick speaks frankly about more than 30 years spent behind bars. Sharing his story of self-discovery, and of wasted years in prison, he hopes to discourage young people from becoming offenders.
A special introduction by Ken Marslew, founder of the Enough is Enough Anti-Violence Organisation, will kick off this event.
Books will be available to purchase on the night for $40.00. Cash payments only accepted.
