Swimming NSW has proposed a high-performance training centre at Sutherland Leisure Centre in preparation for the 2024 and 2028 Paris and Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics. The organisation wrote to Sutherland Shire Council, advising the facility had been identified as a preferred location. Council will consider the proposal at its meeting on November 6.

Sutherland Shire Council has adopted the Leisure Centre Strategy and Implementation Plan that sets a framework for creating an active, safe, healthy, vibrant and liveable region over the next 15 years.
