Perfect Days (2023) is a Japanese drama film directed by Wim Wenders. The film centers on Hirayama, a middle-aged man who leads a simple, routine-driven life working as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo. Despite the mundanity of his job, Hirayama finds joy and contentment in his everyday rituals, the people he encounters, and the music he loves. Through his story, the film explores themes of solitude, beauty in the ordinary, and the search for meaning in life.
Perfect Days received critical acclaim for its contemplative narrative and stunning cinematography. The film won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for Koji Yakusho's poignant portrayal of Hirayama.
