Blueback (2022) is an Australian drama film directed by Robert Connolly, based on Tim Winton's novella of the same name. The film follows the story of Abby, a young girl who forms a bond with a wild blue groper while diving off the coast of Western Australia. Through her relationship with the fish, she becomes an advocate for the ocean and its preservation. The film showcases themes of environmentalism, family, and coming-of-age.

Blueback received praise for its stunning cinematography and heartfelt storytelling. Notably, it won the AACTA Award for Best Cinematography and received nominations for Best Original Music Score and Best Production Design, highlighting its technical and artistic achievements.
