Deep in Blur

Painting

Oil on canvas, print on canvas

My body of work was inspired by the subtle moments within the eerie stillness of night-time roads, where shadows flicker and fade, the horizon becomes a landscape of obscured details and isolated scenes and the boundaries between memory and imagination dissolve into a spectral journey of fleeting impressions. My work investigates the disquieting beauty of these ephemeral experiences, moments that are both here and gone, leaving only a trace of their existence in our minds. The blurring represents the uncertainty and impermanence of life, where nothing is fully clear or solid, passing suddenly through our journeys.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Stéphane Manel, Ben McLaughlin.
