In my body of work, the human form combined with elements of the natural world represents the experience of feeling small within the world: an experience that makes it difficult for a person to define who they are and to grow as a person. The work examines the struggle with identity and the internal conflicts caused by the desire for personal growth. The excessive natural growth from the human body expresses the overpowering sensation of these struggles while demonstrating the beauty that results from this process. The laborious process of stippling was a similar process of struggle resulting in beauty.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Miles Johnston, Dan Hillier, and James Gleeson.
