I Drink From The Sky
Painting
Acrylic on canvas
In I Drink From the Sky my intent was to express the complexities of clouds, their shapes and colours, in a way that the audience can feel: the awe when faced with the overwhelming reality of nature and the ever-present sky. I observed skies and clouds at different times of day to represent the sky as being more than an unreachable boundary. Instead it becomes an unrivalled beauty, ever ephemeral, everchanging. I experimented with using different mediums, such as oil paint and monoprinting, but eventually went back to the medium I had most experience with: acrylics.
