Wuliwulawala: Dharawal Women Sharing Stories featured historical content, interviews and contemporary art which focused on the importance of sharing stories, knowledge and oral histories across generations, while recognising the perspectives of women connected to local and national history.

Dharawal country spans from Sydney harbour down through to the Illawarra where the main source of food and livelihood is from the sea and connecting rivers. In consultation with participating Elders the focus of this exhibition was on the area of southern Sydney including La Perouse and the Sutherland Shire region.

The exhibition was developed in consultation with the Sutherland Shire Council Aboriginal Advisory Committee, La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council, Gujaga Foundation, Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation as well as the women elders from La Perouse and the Sutherland Shire region. We thank them for sharing their knowledge and culture with us.
