Join us to take a step in the right direction by challenging disrespect before it escalates. On Friday 29 November we will be joined by local schools, residents, and community groups to take part in this year’s Walk for Respectful Relationships. Participants will walk from Don Lucas Reserve along the Esplanade to Cronulla Park presenting a united front against domestic and family violence.
9.30am – Schools assemble at Don Lucas Reserve, Cronulla
10.00am – Commence walk along the Esplanade towards Cronulla Park, Cronulla
10.45am – Formal ceremony. Hear from local MPs and student public speaking winners.
Times are approximate and weather dependent.
This event is led by the Walk for Respectful Relationships committee, consisting of representatives from Sutherland Shire Council, NSW Police, The Family Co, Caringbah Rotary, and Woolooware High School.
Walk for Respectful Relationships is held every year as part of a larger global campaign led by UN Women to help their initiative to end gender-based violence. The walk takes place during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence which kicks off on Monday 25 November (International day for Elimination of Violence Against Women) and ends on Tuesday 10 December (Human Rights Day).
We invite everyone to join us and send the message that domestic and family violence has no place in our community.
There are many types of domestic violence. Find out more info here:
