This discussion has 2 identitical sessions:
- Tuesday 20 May from 10am to 12pm
- Thursday 22 May from 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Please only book for one session.
Compassionate Communities are groups of people and places where everyone plays a supporting role for each other in times of crisis – including serious illness, end of life, death, grieving, and caregiving.
Compassionate Communities recognise that care for one another during times of crisis and loss is not a task solely for health and social services, but rather a community responsibility – everyone is ready, willing, and confident to support each other in emotional and practical ways.
This open discussion is for:
- People who show up to support their friends, family, and neighbours
- People who are community minded
- People who do not work in end of life and loss related fields
- Representatives of organisations that work with local communities (such as volunteers and retired seniors)
Join the conversations to discuss how we can build a compassionate community in Sutherland Shire.
Council staff may take photos and or videos at this event. We might use those images in our publications, on website or social media or other communications. Please tell a staff member on the day if you don't want your image used.
