All premises selling food must comply with:
- NSW Food Authority guidelines for food businesses at temporary events
- Food Act 2003
- Food Regulation 2015
- Food Safety Standards
Temporary food stalls must have Council approval. Construction, stall design, layout and hygiene must comply with the NSW Food Authority’s guidelines.
Details of each food stall or food vending vehicle must be submitted to us in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and provide each stall’s:
- business name
- ABN
- trading name
- contact name and mobile number.
Event organisers must have a copy of each stallholder’s Food Safety Supervisor Certificate to present to us on request.
Environmental Health Officers carry out inspections of temporary food stalls and food vending vehicles at events to ensure compliance with food safety requirements and standards. Fees are payable for these inspections. Breaches of any acts or guidelines are liable to further action, including improvement notices and/or fines.
