Join us for a Family-Friendly Celebration in the Heart of Jannali Town Centre!
On Friday 1 November 4 PM to 9 PM and Saturday 2 November 9 AM to 5 PM Box Road Jannali will come to life with live music, cultural ceremonies, market stalls, workshops, and fun for all ages!
The program is jam-packed with a First Nations cultural ceremony and performances on Friday evening complemented by food and market stalls and a dedicated kids zone. The fun continues Saturday with live music, market stalls and workshops along with a Katy Perry and Taylor Swift tribute show and an incredibly special Bluey Meet & Greet!

SATURDAY 9 AM - 5 PM
👉 Saturday offers a family fun day with live music, interactive workshops, and activities for all ages, including a Katy Perry and Taylor Swift tribute show, a Meet & Greet with the ever-popular Bluey as well as market stalls, roving bubble shows, circus hula alongside the enchanting stilt walkers!
There will also be a dedicated kids zone, filling Box Lane with the pop-up library and story time sessions, a Hazelhurst art experience, reptile display, face painting, and cultural workshops. A range of cuisines will be on offer by local restaurants and cafes to get taste buds popping in the alfresco dining area.

Road Closures
To ensure the safety of festival-goers, the following road closures will be in effect from 10 AM on 1 November to 9 PM on 2 November:
- Box Road (between Railway Crescent and Roberts Street)
- Box Lane (between Box Road and Jannali car park)
No vehicle access will be permitted to Queesy Lane and the rear of arcades on 56 Railway Crescent Jannali and 557 – 559 Box Road Jannali.

The event is located across the road from Jannali Train station in Box Road and Box Lane Jannali.
Getting there
With the temporary closure of Box Road and Box Lane and detours in place for this event, it is highly recommended to use public transport, walk or cycle to this event.

There is on street parking in surrounding streets however parking will be limited. Please walk, cycle or use public transport or ride share services where possible.

About the Moonrise Festival Name
The festival has been named in recognition of the Aboriginal name ‘Jannali’ meaning ‘place of the moon’. The event will celebrate First Nations culture alongside a range of attractions and entertainment for all ages.

Jannali train station is conveniently located across the road from all the action.
Bus route 967 & 968 will be impacted by the Box Road closure, alternative bus stops will be in place during the Moonrise Festival on Jannali Avenue. Plan your trip.

Parking in the area is limited. The Council free car park is located behind the shopping precinct, access during the festival will be via Beatrice Road only. 2 hour and 4 hour parking spots are available in this area. Please note changed parking conditions will be in affect during the festival. Please be sure to read signage carefully to avoid fines.
There are many local cafés, restaurants and take-away outlets offering a range of cuisines at the event, we encourage you to support the local businesses.
This event is alcohol prohibited. Local licensed venues will be offering beverages to be consumed within their licensed premises and should not be consumed outside of the licensed premises.
Council are supporting the local retailers and food outlets in Jannali Town centre precinct, we are seeking local stall holders for this event that have an offering that is locally crafted or handmade made at this stage.
