As an incentive to adopt reusable options, Sutherland Shire residents can claim rebates for the purchase of reusable sanitary products and nappies.
Reusable sanitary product rebate
- Rebate for reusable sanitary products includes leak proof underwear, reusable sanitary product pads, sanitary cups and wet bags.
- Only one rebate per household.
- Maximum rebate amount is $50 per household.
Reusable nappy rebate
- Rebate for reusable nappies includes cloth nappies, swim nappies, reusable inner liner for nappies, reusable wipes and wet bags.
- Only one rebate for household.
- Maximum rebate amount is $50 per household.

Terms and Conditions
- The reusable sanitary product and nappy rebate also includes pre-purchased items if adequate proof is provided.
- Rebate for reusable cloth nappies includes cloth nappies, swim nappies, reusable inner liner for nappies, reusable wipes and wet bags.
- Rebate for reusable sanitary products includes leak proof underwear, reusable sanitary pads, sanitary cups and wet bags.
- Rebate does not include transport costs, products hire, and single use items.
- The applicant must be the occupant of the property requesting the rebate.
- The applicant must provide a proof of residence, e.g. rates notice or utility bill.
- Council will accept one application for each rebate per household.
- To apply for reusable sanitary product and nappy rebate, you will need to complete the online application form.
- The applicant must provide a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase. The receipt must include the retailer’s name, date, and clear identification of name and cost of each individual item purchased.
- Proof of purchase must be no older than three months.
- The copy of invoice or proof of purchase must be a whole copy, not partial copy.
- By accepting this rebate, participants agree to be contacted six months following receipt of the rebate to take part in a user survey.
- Sutherland Shire Council holds the right to reject any application.
